Kerry Devine is a young singer-songwriter from Cambridge. We do not know more about her but for the moment, we will still be lulled by her mix of indie folk and ambient sounds that dress her first album called Away From Mountains that just appeared there is now.
This subtle fusion of folktronica blends perfectly with Kerry Devine's ethereal and crystalline voice reminiscent of that of Beth Orton, who captivates us in the long run with titles ranging from "Charlston Town" to "Vehicle", not to mention the heart-rending monuments that are " Work You "and" Ariel "but also" Holme Fen "and" Telling You ". We feel that the musician from Cambridge is in communion with nature because that's what we feel about these intimate texts and totally poetic including "Lines In The Landscape".
On Away From The Mountains, it's about time passing but also the end of strong friendships or relationships that are deteriorating but Kerry Devine manages to visualize them with grace and elegance. A first album for the least hovering and rich in flavors.
